I know your heart is aching right now. At only eleven years old, you’ve already had to say goodbye to two of the strongest, kindest men in your world—your Granddad and your Dad. The hospital rooms, the long nights, the quiet tears… none of it makes sense to a young heart. But I want you to hear this truth straight from mine, wrapped in all the love I have for you: this was never a surprise to God. It was His perfect plan, even when it hurts more than we can explain.

Romans 8:28 (NIV) promises us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Your Granddad and your Dad loved Jesus with everything they had. Now they are safe in heaven, completely healed, laughing, and full of joy. And guess what they’re doing up there? They’re working side-by-side with Jesus Himself on His next beautiful message—for you, for me, and for everyone who still needs to hear how much God loves them.

They’re Watching Over You

Just imagine it, Michaela. Right now, your Dad and Granddad are leaning over the edge of heaven with Jesus, looking down with the biggest smiles. They see every brave step you take. They cheer when you’re kind at school. They whisper encouragement when you feel alone. They are not gone—they are simply home, and they are watching over you with the same deep love they always gave you here on earth.

Jesus said in Matthew 18:10 (NIV), “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” Your Dad and Granddad are part of that great cloud of witnesses now, cheering you on every single day. They will keep watching until the wonderful moment when you run into their arms again in heaven. Until then, they are praying for you, smiling at you, and saying, “That’s our girl—keep going!”

Now It’s Your Time to Write Your Story with Christ

You’ve watched the men in your family live out their faith so beautifully. Now, my brave eleven-year-old daughter, it’s your turn to live out yours. This is the chapter where Michaela’s story of Christ begins to shine the brightest. You don’t have to be big or famous or perfect. You just have to be you—talking about Jesus wherever you go.

The most important thing you can do right now is to be a witness for Him. Tell your friends at school why you believe. Share the good news that Jesus died for them and rose again so they can have eternal life. Plant tiny mustard seeds of faith everywhere you go. Jesus told us in Matthew 17:20 (NIV), “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

That little seed you plant today—maybe by inviting a friend to church, or by praying with someone who’s sad, or by simply saying, “Jesus loves you and He has a plan for your life”—that seed can grow into something huge. Jesus will do the rest. He’s the One who makes the impossible happen. Your Granddad and Dad are already in heaven celebrating every single seed you plant.

How to Share the Gospel (It’s Easier Than You Think)

You don’t need fancy words or a big stage, Michaela. Just speak from your heart like this:

“Jesus loves you so much that He died on the cross for everything wrong we’ve ever done. He rose again so we can live forever with Him in heaven. All you have to do is believe in your heart and say, ‘Jesus, I need You as my Savior.’ It’s that simple—and it changes everything.”

That’s the same message your Dad and Granddad lived and now get to help Jesus share from heaven. And you get to carry it on earth. Every time you do, heaven throws a party (Luke 15:10 NIV).

I’m Right Here With You

I want you to know something very important: you are never alone in this. Jesus is holding your hand every second. Your Granddad and Dad are watching with pride. And I’m right here on earth, hugging you tight, crying with you when you need to cry, and cheering louder than anyone when you step out in faith.

This pain you feel? God is going to turn it into something beautiful. Your story is going to help other kids who lose someone they love. Your words about Jesus are going to reach hearts we can’t even imagine yet.

So keep talking about Christ, sweet girl. Keep sharing the gospel. Keep planting those mustard seeds. One day—when it’s your time to come home to heaven—you will run straight into the arms of Jesus, your Dad, and your Granddad. They’ll be waiting with the biggest hug and they’ll say, “We saw every single thing you did for Jesus. Well done, Michaela. We’re so proud of you.”

Until that glorious day, I love you more than all the stars in the sky and all the words I could ever write. You are my hero. You are God’s masterpiece. And your story with Christ is just getting started.

With all my love, forever,
Mom (the one still here on earth, cheering you on every step of the way)

P.S. Whenever you miss them, just whisper, “Dad, Granddad—I know you’re watching. Help me tell someone about Jesus today.” They’ll hear you. And Jesus will smile.

Share this with anyone who needs hope. Let’s keep planting seeds together until every heart hears about the love of our Savior.
